What is Pau d'Arco? Known also as 'ipê roxo' in Brazil and as 'lapacho' in Argentina and Paraguay, pau'd arco is the inner bark of a tall tree that grows throughout South America. It has been used by traditional healers in Brazil, Argentina, Peru and other South American regions for centuries on its own or as a component of herbal mixtures. How does it work? There are numerous traditional uses for pau d' arco tea for a wide range of conditions, taken orally or applied externally to the skin or in baths. Ask your medical herbalist or naturopathic physician if pau d' arco tea is right for you. When should I use it? Drink 1-3 cups daily, or as directed by your healthcare provider. How does it taste? It has an earthy taste—woody, astringent and slightly bitter.

Suggested Adult Use: For maximum benefit, herbal tea must be properly prepared. Pour 8 oz. freshly boiled water over a tea bag in a cup. Cover cup and steep 10-15 minutes. These steps directly influence the amount of beneficial components that will end up in your teacup! Gently squeeze the tea bag to release the remaining extract. For a more concentrated brew, simmer 4-5 bags in 1 quart of water for 15 minutes. Drink 1-4 cups daily or as directed by your healthcare provider.
