Heartsease (Viola tricolor) Liquid Extract , Dried Leaf and Flower Glycerite
Heartsease (Viola tricolor) is an annual or two-year-old herbaceous plant 10-20 cm high. The stems are up straight, thin, branched. The leaves are alternate, round-heart-shaped, with large lyre-shaped stipules. The lower leaves are petiolate; the stem leaves are sessile. Flowers are single, large (up to 3.5 cm). The corolla consists of five unequal petals: usually the two upper ones are dark or blue-violet, the two side ones are light purple; the lower petal is larger than the others are.

This plant has an anti-inflammatory, antihistamine effect. As a natural anti-inflammatory agent, it reduces pain and swelling in inflammation of the ear, throat, nose. An indispensable cough remedy, helps to improve the discharge of the formed mucus and softens the respiratory tract.
Violet tricolor has a pronounced diuretic effect, and is recommended for kidney diseases, inflammation of the bladder and urinary tract.

Suggested Adult Use: Shake well before use. 20-30 drops, three times a day or as directed by your practitioner. The best way to use liquid herbal glycerites is to put the suggested amount in a glass of water, tea, or juice and water however some glycerites are unpalatable which is why most people prefer to dilute them into a beverage.
