Some May Experience:
First Blush: In some individuals, applying the NIA 24® products to the skin may initially create a warm sensation that can accelerate into mild blushing or even red, itchy skin. To limit the effects of a first blush: Apply a cold compress to soothe the skin. The redness and itchiness should subside within several hours. Slowly introduce each of the NIA 24® products to your skin. Initially, use only one product every other day with a light application while your skin adjusts to the higher level of Niacin. Gradually increase the use and number of products as your skin adjusts.
Initial Breakout: As the skin adjusts, a breakout may occur due to temporarily increased sebaceous activity. To limit the effects of a breakout: Breakouts may be minimized or avoided by following an introductory regimen. Slowly add products every other day with a light application, and gradually increase their use until the full regimen is incorporated over 10 days.
Dryness: Depending on environmental and dermal moisture levels, the skin can become dry. In addition, the skin barrier's ability to retain moisture can make the skin surface feel dry. To limit the effects of dryness: Use a humectant or additional moisturizer to help hold water on top of the skin, applying the NIA 24® Niacin-Powered Skin Therapy products first, followed by a moisturizer.
